Alright , it has been awhile and a lot has happened, so here is the update:
The week before graduation was not perfect by any means but I learned more life lessons from my college experience that I will take on with me for the rest of my life. It was hard saying goodbye to most people, which is funny since I am not a really a mushy person. I think I will mostly miss my job at Sella’s. It turned out to be a great job and I will always have great memories there. I never really got a home in college, though I tried, until I stopped looking. I really met some truly great people this year that taught me a lot and I will always have their backs. I hope the best for everyone I met there.
Alright, graduation was amazing! I can not express how perfect the day went (except for me leaving the lights on in my car). It was one of the best days of my life and I expected it to be just a day that failed to live up to the talk. But it honestly was magical! I totally cried and I got the beach ball that someone brought to throw around. It was funny as I ran past all the other graduates to hide it in my car before I found my family for pictures. Graduation was hard splitting time between my two families and I do hate having divorced parents on the days that are suppose to be about me. I wish my family could come together rather than split me in two on the most important days of my life. Eventually they will have grand children from and can’t do it anymore. Or at least I hope. I really enjoyed the ceremony and sitting by three of my friends from school, including one I have known since I was 10 or 12.
Hawaii was a trip to say in the least. It was beautiful and HOT! I don’t know how I will stand the heat in Florida! I am hoping my job will be inside. We went snorkeling at Hanuma Bay and saw two sea turtles. It took me a while to get the hang of it but it was totally worth it. I originally was terrified to go but now would do it again in a heart beat. The next day we went to the Polynesian Center and I learned a lot. I liked the food and drank a lot of water (and I mean a lot). All the male performers completely met my standards! Haha! I even volunteered in Tahiti to dance the fast paced version of the hula. We also went to Pearl Harbor- and yes I did cry there. It is something that I always dreamed of doing and I am glad I got to learn more about American history. We also climbed Diamond Head, and my joke was I was sweating off supermodels. If you go to Hawaii- hike Diamond Head. The zoo there is so cool! Lots of animals there, like spider monkeys, that I have never seen before. We also went to the aquarium. Hawaii was an adventure and I had a great time with my friend that I went with. I hope to go again but maybe in the winter.
Okay so I have so much to say in this blog but can’t because there is too much to say so that is why I barely talked about graduation or Hawaii. Next up is Florida! I fly out Sunday night with my mother. This week I have a long to do list: laundry (lots!), change address, see friends, see family, pack for 7 months of living in Orlando, clean my room, eye doctor, female doctor, dentist, visit the zoo, maybe wax my eyebrows, buy a camera, create list of things to buy in Orlando for apartment (yes, I did in fact make plans to make a plan) and so much more I can’t remember! I am conflicted by excitement and fear for Orlando but I know it will work out and be a magical experience. You make life what you want of it. There are 22 people so far signed up for the meet and greet dinner and I swear I will try on 20 outfits before I settle on one to wear there because I am so nervous to meet everyone. It is weird to consider starting my new life in just a week- a week is when check in is.
Alright, sorry I can’t explain all that is going on but there is a lot to do so I better go- have a magical day- hopefully I will have another blog after a week in Florida.
